Resources Himalaya Foundation and Environmental Graduates in Himalaya organized a panel discussion on June 5, to mark and celebrate “World Environment Day 2022”. World Environment Day is celebrated every year with a broad objective to raise awareness on the problems facing our environment including pollutions, sustainable consumption, and food security. The discussion was mainly focused on the theme of this year “Only One Earth”. Three guest speakers; Mr. Indu Bikram Joshi, Joint Secretary at Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Alka Sapkota, PhD, Vice principal at Himalayan White House International College, and Asst. Prof. Binod Baniya, PhD at Patan Multiple Campus were invited. The program was moderated by Asst. Prof. Chandra Mani Aryal of Padma Kanya Multiple Campus.
Dr. Binod Baniya mainly focused on the academic status, research that has been done by the academician and their implementation impact at existing issues of Nepal. Dr. Alka Sapkota emphasized on the problems being raised by the waste, challenges and few solutions to solve those problems. Mr. Indu Bikram Joshi highlighted the support, loopholes from policy level to academic institution and researches. The panel discussion was followed by discussion session between the participants and panelist. The program was concluded with brief summary and remarks by Dr. Dinesh Neupane, Executive Director of Resources Himalaya Foundation.
