EGH Day 2023- Nature Hike

Environmental Graduates in Himalaya (EGH) organized a Nature Hike on February 25, 2023 to mark and celebrate EGH Day (February 23). This is an annual program organized by the EGH. This year the destination chosen was Jamacho Gumba, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. A total of 18 people from different affiliations participated and met at Machhapokhari. After having some tea and snacks, the hike started with full excitement. The EGH coordinator provided a brief description about the hike. The official formalities required to enter the park was carried out at the check post at Nagarjun. After entering the park, various activities like tree species identification, exploration of nature, knowledge dissemination among the team was carried out during the hike. The team rested for a while at the final destination, Jamacho Gumba and carried out an introduction session before having lunch. This activity is basically done to share ideas, and extend the network of people who are interested in nature. The return trip was done through the same route and the hike ended at Machhapokhari.
