For the 58th series of PYCF, we had invited Dr Prajal Pradhan, researcher from Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Germany. The program started with the welcome note and brief introduction of speaker by Ms Rasmi Kunwar, EGH coordinator. Dr Pradhan had his presentation on title “Towards Climate Smart Food Systems:needs for climate change adaptation, mitigation &sustainable development”. He started his presentation with the brief explanation of food status over the world and he notified that around 800 millions people are under hunger and poverty. He showed the graphical representation of spatial distribution of dietary pattern for past 50 years and remarked upon the sustainable development goals prioritizing hunger and poverty and responsibility on consumption and production. The program ended with closing remarks by Dr Dinesh Raj Bhuju, the General Secretary of Resources Himalaya Foundation who also handed token of love to our guest speaker.
