For the GUFF-GAFF programme of May 2019, we had invited Ms. Samjhana Kawan, Research Associate at Resources Himalaya Foundation as our guest speaker. The programme was started with the welcome and brief introduction of the speaker by Ms. Anjana Suwal, EGH coordinator.
Ms. Samjhana Kawan shared her experience entitled “Storks and their habitat status in Bardia”. As she was doing researches on the storks of the lowlands of Nepal, she had a wide knowledge regarding to the stork and its habitat. With the introduction of the common water bird Stork she started her experience sharing where she had worked and the challenges regarding to the field. Also she pointed out that due to the pollution, the migratory bird aren’t migrating due to the easy availability of the food changing their food habitat. The interaction was an insightful one and had a positive feedback from the participants.
The guff-gaff programme was ended informally with the group photograph and lunch.
