Environmental Graduates in Himalaya (EGH) organized Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) Training from December 24 to 26, 2021. Mr. Manoj Aryal, Environmental Inspector at Department of Roads was appointed as the trainer/instructor. There were eight trainees from different background. With short welcoming note and introduction of the trainer from the EGH coordinator, Ms. Srijana Sigdel, the training sessions were handed over to the trainer.
On the first day, introducing the terms and the processes involved in IEE, a clarity was provided by comparing it with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Brief Environment Study (BES). The second day was allocated to a field trip to the grounds of Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur. Divided into two groups, the trainees carried out different necessary steps for IEE. Finally, the last day consisted of discussion by each groups on their findings, interpretation of the field work and the report preparation techniques followed by remarks as well as other instructions by the trainer. The IEE training ended with certificate distribution to the trainees.
