Pralad Yonzon Conservation Forum (PYCF) Session 135 (Outreach program)

On February 10th, 2025, the 135th session of the Pralad Yonzon Conservation Forum (PYCF) was successfully held at Saraswati Niketan Madhyamik Vidyalaya. The event began with a warm introduction by EGH Coordinator, Jyoti Khadka, who outlined the objectives of the organization, its ongoing (EGH) activities, and the purpose of the day’s session. Ms.Sunita Subedi and Ms. Riya Budhathoki presented on the “Discovering Probiotics: Identifying Beneficial Bacteria in Honeybee Gut”.

The first segment of the program featured Ms. Riya Budhathoki, who discussed various environmental pollution issues, highlighting their causes and exploring potential mitigation strategies. The focus then shifted to the importance of pollinators, with Ms. Sunita Subedi sharing valuable insights on honeybees. She emphasized their role not only in producing honey but also in aiding plant growth by transferring pollen between plants. Additionally, she discussed the recent discovery of probiotics within the honeybee gut.

The session concluded with two students sharing lessons learned from the program, followed by a brief Q&A session. The event closed with final remarks from Jyoti Khadka, expressing gratitude to Saraswati Niketan Madhyamik Vidyalaya for their cooperation, as well as to the participants and guest speakers.

This session proved to be an informative and impactful discussion on environmental issues, pollution, and the vital role of pollinators in our ecosystem.
