Professional Training on Environmental Assessment (EIA/IEE/BES)

Environmental Graduates in Himalaya (EGH) organized three days “Professional Training on Environmental Assessment (EIA/IEE/BES)” from July 15 to 17, 2022. Mr. Manoj Aryal, Environmental Inspector at Department of Roads gave three hours long training sessions to eighteen trainees of different institutions and background.
The training included both theoretical and practical session. On the first day, the terms such as environmental assessment, terms of reference, scoping document was introduced with the brief explanation of the processes involved in environment assessment; Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), and Brief Environmental Study (BES). The second day was allocated to a field trip to the grounds of Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur. The data collection was carried out by the trainees being divided into two groups under the direct guidance and observation of trainer. Finally, the last day consisted of data entry, interpretation of the field work, impact evaluation, and the report preparation techniques. Addressing all the queries of the trainees, the program ended with short remarks and certificate distribution by the trainer.
