Training on R Programming

Event Date :

A three-day training program on R programming was organized by Environmental Graduates in Himalaya (EGH) in collaboration with the Resources Himalaya Foundation (RHF). The training took place on December 5, 6, and 8, 2024, and was led by Dr. Sailesh Ranjitkar, a renowned expert in the field. The event aimed to enhance the participants’ skills in data analysis using R, particularly focusing on statistical methods, data manipulation, and the application of both parametric and non-parametric tests.

The first day of the training program was dedicated to introducing the basics of R programming. Dr. Sailesh Ranjitkar began the session by walking the participants through the installation of R and essential packages required for statistical analysis. He emphasized the importance of R as a powerful tool for data analysis, especially in research and environmental studies. On the second and third day parametric and non-parametric tests were practiced with the data shared by our instructor, Dr. Sailesh Ranjitkar. Participants were given the opportunity to practice these techniques on the data they had provided, fostering an interactive and engaging learning environment.

To conclude the training, the EGH Coordinator, Jyoti Khadka, shared valuable information about further opportunities for participants to continue their learning journey. Dr. Sailesh Ranjitkar then presented certificates of completion to all participants, acknowledging their dedication and successful participation in the training program.
